Driftwood

Wood is natural, affordable, and easy to work with, ideal for experimental instruments. This project explores accessible sound works in wood with Driftwood, a percussive instrument performed at Littlefield NYC. Driftwood is built from bass wood, pine wood, bamboo rods, a screw, a piezo transducer, a spring, and a vibration motor. Each element transmits vibration differently and makes unique sounds.
